Electroforming is like growing a metal skin around an object using electricity! It’s used in jewelry-making, sculpture, and even for creating detailed prototypes in industries like electronics.

We start by assembling the objects then painting them with a graphite based solution where ever we want the copper to grow. The object is then placed into a special solution called an electrolyte, which contains metal ions (like copper, gold, or silver). This solution allows metal to be deposited onto the object. A power source is connected to the object and a metal electrode in the solution. When electricity flows through the solution, metal ions in the electrolyte get attracted to the object and start sticking to its surface. Over time, these metal ions build up, creating a solid metal layer. The process continues until the metal layer becomes thick enough, creating a smooth, shiny metal coating or forming a full 3D shape, depending on the original object. After electroforming, we clean and polish the piece, then it is ready to go!
